SkinFood Platinum Grape Cell Toner Review

Pretty bottle and packaging!

From their site:
A premium toner containing visible platinum particles and grape cells that provide intensive firming treatment for aging skin.

[Grape Cell Story]Bourgogne is one of the three best wine producers in France&mdashBordeaux, Bourgogne, and Cotes du Rohone&mdashknown for the Gamay grapes. Extracted from the Gamay grapes, our grape cells help regenerate skin cells, firming skin from the inside out.

[Platinum Story]
Platinum is one of the purest and rarest metals in the world. With excellent antioxidant effects, Platinum is used for Food, Medical, Cosmetics and etc.
It's a pump
My Take:
First of all, I am a big fan of their Gold Caviar Toner, so I thought I would give this one a try, and I think I might like this better!

The packaging is beautiful to look at and much more elaborate than the Gold Caviar Toner, which was wrapped in plastic. This one came in a nice sophisticated case like a wine bottle.

You can see the platinum particles
The product itself is a pump, which I like better. You can see the platinum particles floating in the bottles. It's beautiful to look at on the bathroom counter.

It smells like a mixture of wine and grape juice. It's a great light scent that won't give you a headache, which I do get sometimes from products that are way too fragrant. It is hydrating and supposed to firm the skin. If you've been reading my blog, you'll know that I've mentioned it's hard to see results from face wash and toner, so I can't really tell you if it actually lifts or firms, but I can tell you grape cells have been used for many years in many products and brands. Platinum is supposed to have great antioxidant effects so we'll see what happens.

I think the Gold Caviar Toner from SkinFood is a little bit more hydrating than this, but this one sinks into the skin quicker and better. Gold Caviar Toner is very thick, almost like a serum, this one is more watery.

It's like a little wine bottle! So cute

I like this toner. I haven't found a toner that I have actually seen a difference in my skin besides SKII's Facial Treatment Essence, but for those that are looking at trying this product, I say go for it!

Read from from their site: http://eng.theskinfood.com/products/product.asp?prdNo=1306
Price: No idea, they have flagship stores around the world, but I have been getting this from family members in Taiwan, so the price is different. I would say it's around $50-60.

Verdict: Try it!

Guerlain Abeille Royal Lotion Review $61

Born from the exceptional repairing power of bee products, this toner prepares the skin to optimize the firming, wrinkle correction action of Abeille Royale skin care.

As if stimulated from within, the skin is smoothed and firmed, glowing with a youthful radiance. Its fresh, delicately creamy texture leaves the skin soft and plump.

Continuing the trend of calling a toner "lotion", this "lotion" is actually a toner. I don't understand why they do this 'cause it can be confusing for people buying products on the internet and sometimes I don't even know a particular line has a "toner" until I see it in person. OK, that's my little rant, let's move on to the product itself.

This is probably my favorite toner at the moment right now. The texture is thicker than your usual liquid toner. I would say it's almost like a serum, but a little watery. The scent is very pleasing to the nose and very relaxing. It's sweet, but not overpowering. I wish they would come out with a body lotion with this scent.

There isn't a way of telling if it's a toner is good or not, so I always look at the ingredient list and see what the first 3 ingredients are. I remember this toner had Royal Jelly listed in the first few ingredients, meaning it's one of the most prominent ingredient in the toner. I've always been a fan of Royal Jelly. I take Royal Jelly supplements on a daily basis. It's great for anti-aging and overall health. It slows down the aging process.

This toner would be great for all types of skin. I have very sensitive skin and sometimes when I feel my skin is dehydrated, this toner soothes it. It also claims to have firming and wrinkle correction action, but honestly, I haven't really noticed that, but it is very soothing and hydrating, probably the richest toner I've ever tried. I also don't really think a toner should claim to have lifting or anti-aging benefits. Spend that money on a good night cream or serum, not on a toner.

The price point for this is not too bad for luxury brand toners,

Verdict: Buy it!

Skinfood Gold Caviar Toner

A toner that softens the skin texture with gold particles that can be seen with the naked eye and with the addition of Russian caviar, it provides moisture, nutrition and resilience to the skin.

Not many people in the US have heard of this brand, Skin Food is a popular Korean brand that's been around Asia for awhile. Skin Food has become a well-known cosmetic and skincare brand in many countries outside South Korea such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and many others. The appealing factor of Skin Food is the use of natural food and produce in its original form as ingredients in their products. In addition, the use of natural ingredients also plays a significant role in their success today. Their products range from makeup, skin care, body and hair products.

This review is for the Gold Caviar Toner. I haven't tried that many products from this brand, because I was getting them from Taiwan and being that I live in the US, it's not exactly convenient. However, they have opened a few stores in California in areas that have a higher Asian population.

I like the bottle for the toner, but I didn't like how it just had a plastic wrap on top of the lid you peel off like a vitamin bottle. It kind of cheapens the products for me. I wish it had a box, because the toner itself is beautiful to look at. You can actually see particles of gold floating around and they melt into your skin once you put it on.

It's more dense than your regular toner, it's almost like a serum. It's very hydrating to the skin and whenever I feel like my skin needs a deep hydration or whenever my skin feels sensitive, I use this. I think it's one of the better toners I've tired on the market. The only downside was I had to get it overseas. Although they did open a few stores in California, they are all 40 mins or more away from me. I'm not sure if I would make a trip just to buy a toner, but if I happen to pass through those areas, I would definitely stop by to get this. It is comparable to a lot of the high end toners I have tried and the thing I like about it the most is how soothing it feels on the skin. I really like that.

I do have the Gold Caviar Mask and Cream, which I will review in the future. For now, I just want to introduce this specialty brand from Korea that is definitely worth a try!

Verdict: Buy it! (if you can find it)
I don't know how much it cost in the US since I got it in Taiwan. I would say it'll prob be $30-40 range in the US. It's not a high end luxury brand, but a decent brand.
